Dr. Joshua Littenberg-Tobias

Joshua Littenberg-Tobias, Ph.D., is the Director of Research and Evaluation at GBH. Dr. Littenberg-Tobias has an extensive background in the development and evaluation of  education technology. Through-out his career he has led efforts to develop systems for large-scale research on integrating technology with teaching and learning. He contributed to research and evaluations for civics-focused initiatives including Generation Citizen, Youth in Front and led the development of the Discussion Leader platform at MIT,  Dr. Littenberg-Tobias is currently the Co-PI for the NSF-funded Solving Community Problems with Engineering project and is leading an RCT looking at the effects of a media-based resources for teaching history and civics. He has also authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations on educational technology, learning analytics, artificial intelligence, civics education, and educational equity. Dr. Littenberg-Tobias holds a B.A in History from Brown University and a Ph.D. in Educational Research, Measurement, and Evaluation from Boston College.
