Mawuli Mensah was born into a humble family where he grew with a single disabled mother. As he grew up, he watched his mother engaged herself in sewing, petty-trading and backyard farming with little and sometimes no help from others. This way, he learnt practically from his mother that disability was not inability. He was impacted positively, motivated and highly encouraged to work hard. Catching the spirit of industry, creativity and problem-solving in childhood from home, he learned to work hard against all odds to produce results out of every situation he finds himself. By this upbringing, Mawuli has become very determined, open-minded and interested in finding solutions to problems. He has joy anytime he comes out with new “things” or initiatives. By dint of hard work, Mawuli is educated and well informed.Mawuli Mensah is a trainer, health care professional, project manager and human rights advocate with good experience in developing and implementing programmes and projects including business and research projects. He holds Master of Arts Degree in Human Rights from School of Research & Graduate Studies in the University of Education, Winneba in Ghana and Postgraduate Diploma in e-Governance from the University of Catalonia, Barcelona in Spain. He also holds Diploma in General Nursing, Diploma in Counselling, and Advanced Executive Certificate in Project Management. He possesses practical skills in building, leading and managing work teams successfully. He is a good team player and leader with professional working ethics. He is creative, innovative and able to generate ideas when it comes to making prudent decisions and helping solve problems. He has worked previously as a teacher, project secretary, programme officer, an administrator and currently he is the Director of International Development Opportunity Initiative, a social enterprise he has founded.
