Rachel Reese
Director, Criminal Justice Reform, Stand Together
Rachel graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with degrees in economics and Chinese, and a minor in architecture. Prior to moving to Washington, DC, Rachel spent two years teaching high school algebra in St. Louis as a Teach for America corps member. Her time in the classroom highlighted the deep-seated policy barriers inherent not just in K-12 education but also in the justice system, and she moved to DC in 2013 to pursue a career in policy.
Rachel subsequently earned her master’s degree in economics at George Mason University as an MA Fellow at the Mercatus Center, after which she worked as a research associate at the Cato Institute’s Center for Educational Freedom. Rachel has spent the last five years working at Stand Together, where she’s currently the Director for Criminal Justice Reform, developing the Charles Koch Institute’s investment strategy and managing the grant portfolio.
In her spare time, Rachel enjoys traveling around the world with her husband Adam, finding the best new restaurants in DC, and exploring with her dogs Wesley and Orzo.
