Rhita Simorangkir is an Economics Ph.D. Candidate at Georgia State University. Motivated by her research interest in development economics, she is aspired to get involved directly in solving pressing problems in developing countries. Her interest to serve disadvantaged children began from her experience tutoring disadvantaged children in mathematics and readings in one of Jakarta’s slum areas. She has worked with prominent economics professors and research centers both in the US and in Indonesia.
